Decision taken on Harry Gray ahead of Leeds United clash at Nottingham Forest amid Whites…

Inside Elland Road: Can Leeds Utd fans hold their nerve?

A decision has been taken on Harry Gray ahead of Leeds United’s huge Premier League clash against Nottingham Forest.

Harry Gray’s return from injury continues with Leeds United’s under-21s ahead of the first team’s huge Premier League clash at Nottingham Forest on Sunday afternoon.

Seventeen-year-old striker Gray was out injured with a hip flexor issue before the international break but returned to training last month as he also signed his first professional deal.

Gray then bagged his first minutes since September when starting for United’s under-21s in last weekend’s Premier League 2 clash against Brighton in which he played the full duration of the game.

United’s under-21s are back in action this afternoon with another Premier League 2 clash at home to Nottingham Forest and the decision has been taken to start Gray on the eve of the first team’s Premier League clash at Forest.

Gray made the first team bench for September’s Premier League clash at Wolves and boss Daniel Farke revealed at Friday’s pre-match press conference that striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin was facing a race against time to be fit for Sunday’s trip to Forest due to an adductor injury.

Gray could have been as an obvious replacement to come on to the bench in the event of Calvert-Lewin missing out but Calvert-Lewin posted training photographs on social media on Friday and Gray starts for the under-21s for whom experienced stopper Alex Cairns also lines up in goal.

Leeds United under-21s v Nottingham Forest: Cairns, Firth, Lienou, Pickles, Lopata-White, Howson, Vincent, Cresswell, Gray, Chadwick, Chambers. Subs: Wilson, Brockie, McDonald, Enahoro-Marcus, Pirie.
