Wubben-Moy on supporters: 'I had shivers!'

Lotte Wubben-Moy hailed the support at Emirates Stadium as we fought back late to claim a point against Chelsea in the Women's Super League.

Our England centre-back returned to the starting line-up and kept Chelsea's attacking threat to a minimum in the second half as Alessia Russo's late strike cancelled out Alyssa Thompson's first-half effort.

Speaking about the support she and the whole team received all game, Lotte said: "I had shivers, maybe that's not a performance advantage, but that feeling, it overcomes you. I'm obviously a lifelong Gooner, I'd be sat in the stands if I wasn't on the pitch, supporting the girls like the fans are today.

"It's definitely something that gives us that extra edge. This is our home, these are our people, and we want to do it week in, week out for them.

"Unfortunately, we couldn't get the three points, and I think that's disappointing. But I think the reception that we had from the fans at the end of the game showed that even if we didn't get the win, they're proud of us, and it's something to build on."

Plenty of chances came our way as we looked to get back into the contest, including two disallowed goals from Stina Blackstenius and Frida Maanum.

When the goal arrived it was a fine finish as substitute Maanum picked out Russo who did the rest. Commenting on the goal, Lotte added: "It was so good. Frida coming into the game, she brought that energy, all of our subs did, they're game changers.

"But Lessi, unbelievable. She was everywhere, all over the pitch, rolling inside, outside. I think players know that Lessi’s going to do that, but they still can't get the ball off of her.

"We train against her every week, but to see her doing it on the pitch against Chelsea, absolutely nullifying their defence, it was her just deserves to get that goal."
