The team will pack their bags and leave town for the 2027 season. They have decided to play home games at Orlando’s Camping World Stadium while their current home stadium undergoes significant renovations.
And the amount? The stadium overhaul is reportedly a ten-figure project.

The renovation project carries a $1.4 billion price tag, though with additional costs the total approaches $2 billion. Construction started after the 2025 season wrapped up. They believe this billion-dollar project will finish in 2028 so that the players won’t need to wait long to explore the brand-new facility.

The Jaguars normally use Ben Hill Griffin Stadium as their temporary home. But this time, it will also undergo a $398.5 million renovation in April 2027, making sharing the venue impossible.
The Orlando Stadium, meanwhile, will complete its own $400 million upgrade before the 2027 season kicks off. The venue holds 65,000 fans. It has hosted Pro Bowls and major college bowl games in recent times. So, this option is quite NFL-ready and available for the entire season.
Orlando City Commissioner Shan Rose confirmed the Jaguars recently opened up about their plan to move. NFL owners still need to vote on the move which will likely happen at the league’s virtual meetings in December. The approval process requires 75% of owners to sign off.
The Jaguars could play up to three home games in London during the 2027 campaign. They’ve played at least one game annually at Wembley Stadium since 2013. That means some home contests might split between Orlando and across the pond.

Orlando is situated 141 miles from Jacksonville, approximately a two-hour drive down I-95. For the unversed, it’s the biggest tourist destination without a pro football team. So, with the NFL entering their system, the market is just waiting to draw more attention.
What the Stadium of the Future Will Look Like
The revamped EverBank Stadium will reportedly feature a shade canopy similar to SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. The canopy is said to reduce heat retention by 70% and drop temperatures by 15 degrees. For those who know about brutal Florida heat, this upgrade is nothing less than a blessing.
The best part is the space. After construction, it will allow approximately four times larger footprints than the current one. Capacity for Jaguars games will be 63,000, expandable to 70,000-plus for major events. That includes the annual Florida-Georgia rivalry game.
The Jaguars and the city of Jacksonville will each contribute $625 million to the renovation. The city will also spend $150 million for maintenance and repairs before construction starts. That brings the public share to 55% of total costs.

Although it is just a one-season temporary move, it will also disrupt some crucial games, such as Florida-Georgia. The rivalry will move to Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium and Tampa’s Raymond James Stadium. With the project expected to end before 2028 season, the rivalry should return to its traditional home in Jacksonville.
