West Ham have won consecutive games in the Premier League for the first time since February after they beat Burnley 3-2 at the London Stadium.
The home team fell behind in the first half but equalized before the brake, before going on to score two goals in second half to win the game.
Hammer’s boss Nuno Espirito Santo named the same starting line up that that defeated Newcastle last week, hoping they would win consecutive games for the first time since February. The Hammers were also hoping that Freddie Potts would build on his man of the man of the match performance.
The home team got off to a confident start and were awarded a free just outside the box on 10 minutes. Captain Jarrod Bowens took on the responsibility of trying to give the Hammers the lead, but his effort was comfortably blocked by the Burnley wall.
Five minutes later the Clarets could have taken the lead after they caught the Hammers off guard after they cleverly lobbed the ball forward and then then crossed low only for Zian Flemming to miss the target.
Burnley were now dominating the midfield and were superbly breaking up West Ham‘s attempted attack’s and then hitting them on the break.
Halfway through the first half the Hammers were yet to create a proper chance on goal as Burnley’s counter attacking game plan was clearly working and this was evident when Zian Flemming scored a header in the box after a cross from Lesley Ugochukwu on 36 minutes to give the away side a deserved lead.
Burnley’s goal certainly shook West Ham as they reacted like marching soldiers coming forward for battle and this response resulted in them equalizing when Crysencio Summerville’s solo run and low cross in the box was coolly tapped in by Callum Wilson, a minute before half time.
The away side started the second the half the same way as the first as they continued to hit West Ham on the counterattack, and they could have taken the lead again when Jaidon Anhtony blasted over the bar from just outside the box on 55 minutes.
The Hammers were then dealt a massive blow when star player Freddie Potts was taken off with a suspected hamstring injury and replaced by Tomas Soucek on the 64th minute mark.
The home fans continued to roar on their team and the louder they got, the more West Ham came forward in numbers, and this resulted in substitute Soucek giving the Hammers the lead after he calmly tapped in from inside the box after a cross from Lucas Paqueata on 75 minutes.
Instead of sitting back and holding on to their lead, the Hammers continued to come forward to search for a third and their determination paid off when substitute Klye Walker-Peters slotted in from close range after a low cross 2 minutes from time to give the home a deserved victory.
The home team did have a nervous finish as Burnley captain Josh Cullen scrambled the ball into the net after a good cross in injury time.
Victory for West Ham means they have now gone level on points with Burnley but still remain in the relegation zone.
