Thomas Frank has delivered injury updates on two Tottenham stars following his side's thrilling 2-2 draw with Manchester United in the Premier League. Bryan Mbeumo, Mathys Tel, Richarlison and Matthijs de Ligt all found the net with three of those strikes arriving in the final ten minutes.
Frank's former Brentford star Mbeumo broke the deadlock with a clever header as United dominated the early exchanges. Apart from crucial stops from Senne Lammens to thwart Cristian Romero and Joao Palhinha, Spurs posed little danger until the 84th minute when Wilson Odobert, Destiny Udogie and Tel linked up with the latter finding the target.
Richarlison then steered an Odobert strike into the net for what appeared to be a stoppage-time winner before De Ligt nodded home from a corner at the far post in the dying seconds. Amid that mayhem, Cristian Romero's exit after collapsing and receiving medical attention was rather overlooked.
Randal Kolo Muani was also unexpectedly the striker withdrawn for Odobert at the interval, though Frank was available to provide encouraging news on both players. On the Tottenham captain, Frank said: "He was just done physically. He just came back from that injury. He's fine."
Kolo Muani's change appeared tactical but when asked if it was injury-related, the Spurs boss confirmed it was but nothing big. "He actually struggled a little bit, but nothing big," Frank said. The Frenchman's face did collide with Harry Maguire and RMC journalist Fabrice Hawkins has since reported he picked up a jaw injury and will undergo scans.
Mohammed Kudus missed the game but it is another minor issue, according to Frank. "Mo got the knock and just couldn't make it for this game," he told TNT Sports before the clash. "I really expect it to be a short one. It was just too short a turnaround from the Chelsea game one week ago. I'm quite confident he'll be ready for the next game."
Dominic Solanke, James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski are Spurs' other attackers currently absent with all three having undergone surgery. Ben Davies, Archie Gray and have all been unavailable in recent weeks with minor issues while Lucas Bergvall was absent as he is still adhering to concussion protocols.
Yves Bissouma, Radu Dragusin and Kota Takai are also dealing with injuries, which is largely the reason none of them have played this season.
