The Jacksonville Jaguars will be shorthanded when they face the Houston Texans in Week 10. Then again, it doesn't come as a shock. Brian Thomas Jr., left guard Ezra Cleveland, and cornerback Jourdan Lewis suffered injuries during the 30-39 win over the Las Vegas Raiders and didn't participate in practice ahead of their divisional matchup.
To nobody's surprise, the Jags have ruled out Thomas, Cleveland, and Lewis for the Texans bout. On the other hand, they're getting back one of their most important players on defense.
The Jaguars ruled out Brian Thomas Jr., Jourdan Lewis, and Ezra Cleveland for Week 10
The Jags dropped their final injury report for Week 10. As noted before, Brian Thomas Jr., Ezra Cleveland, and Jourdan Lewis won't suit up against the Texans. Tight end Hunter Long has also been ruled out. Cole Van Lanen will probably get the start at left guard, and Jarrian Jones will fill in for Jourdan Lewis in the slot.
On the other hand, linebacker Jack Kizer (quad) and DaVon Hamilton will be available after getting the limited designation the past few practices.

Similarly, wide receiver Dyami Brown has cleared concussion protocol, and Tim Patrick is back in the fold after missing the past two games with a groin injury. The biggest news, however, might be that linebacker Devin Lloyd is ready to roll after getting hurt against the Seattle Seahawks.
Lloyd was questionable against Las Vegas but was ultimately ruled out. Head coach Liam Coen, for his part, said that he saw enough of the fourth-year linebacker in practice to think he's a full-go.
"Just consistent, just the rep, volume of reps, not affecting the movements," Coen told the media Friday (2:30 mark). "That's really what it came down to, is just he's been looking great and Indy, and then in the limited amount of reps he was getting, kind of leading up to was just the volume, the every day, the every play, the every drill, going through it pain-free and without any issues."
Before Lloyd hurt his calf, he had a team-best five takeaways. Since then, the defense has struggled to create turnovers, so having him back should be huge.
The Jaguars will need to find a way to beat the Texans without Brian Thomas Jr.
Brian Thomas Jr. suffered an ankle sprain against the Raiders. There was a chance that he would be available for the Texans game, but the Jaguars are making the right call by not rushing him back and exposing him to further risk before his ready. For his part, Liam Coen believes the Jaguars can create mismatches with creative play design.
"I think you can obviously still do it within schematically as well, but it hurts," Coen responded when asked how he can threaten the Houston secondary. "I mean, BT, he can roll, and he rises to playing against these guys he has in the past and had a huge moment for us in that game last time to seal that victory. So not having them is a big deal for us."
Coen continued, "And you know, those guys are going to continue to have to step up again this week and go make some dirty, grimy, contested plays, and that's the kind of game it's going to have to be.""
Without Thomas, the Jaguars will need to lean more on the newly acquired Jakobi Meyers than they would like. They'll also need Parker Washington, Dyami Brown, and Tim Patrick to step up. If they do, they'll have enough firepower to overcome the Texans.
In the end, the show must go on, and even without Brian Thomas Jr., the Jaguars have enough talent on both sides of the ball to beat Houston.
