President Donald Trump will attend the NFL game between the Washington Commanders and the Detroit Lions in Landover, Maryland, on Sunday.
Trump, an avid sports fans, will be in attendance as part of the NFL’s “Salute to Service” initiative ahead of Veterans Day.
“We are honored to welcome President Trump to the game as we celebrate those who have served and continue to serve our country,” Commanders president Mark Clouse said in the statement, per The Athletic.
“The entire Commanders organization is proud to participate in the NFL’s league-wide Salute to Service initiative, recognizing the dedication and sacrifice of our nation’s veterans, active-duty service members and their families this Sunday.”
Pat McAfee reported Friday that Trump will be in Commanders owner Josh Harris’ box.
“Check that off the list, right?” Lions linebacker Trevor Nowaske told The Detroit Free Press. “That’ll be cool. I did not know he was going to be there, but that’ll be super cool to have the president. That’ll be something I’ll be able to tell my kids, I played in front of the president. That’ll be sweet.”
