Nuno provides immediate update on 'very painful' Freddie Potts injury after West Ham beat…

Nuno Espirito Santo has calmed the fears surrounding Freddie Potts after the West Ham United midfielder was forced off during Saturday’s 3-2 victory over Burnley.

Starting a top-flight match for the second time in a row, Potts was replaced by Tomas Soucek just past the hour mark.

The academy graduate limped off after appearing to pick up an injury in the midst of another typically all-action display.

But, speaking after West Ham United recorded successive London Stadium wins for the first time since October 2024, Nuno Espirito Santo has confirmed that he expects Freddie Potts to be available for the trip to AFC Bournemouth after the international break.

“He has a dead leg. [Only] a dead leg,” Nuno said during his post-match press conference. “I think [he should be available for Bournemouth].

“It is very painful now but, with ice, he will recover.”

The aforementioned Tomas Soucek put West Ham ahead for the first time in the 77th minute. It was he who helped create Kyle Walker-Peters’ clincher, too, as West Ham drew level with Burnley on ten points.
