Shilo Sanders found himself on the receiving end of an unexpected jab while dining out recently. A waiter at Dick’s Last Resort turned the former Buccaneers safety into entertainment for other customers with a brutal joke about his NFL status.

Theviral video shows Sanders reviewing his food and drink before the server delivered the punchline. “Damn man, slow down,” the waiter told Sanders. “You’re eating those pickles faster than you can find a new team to get on.”

Sandershandled the roast with grace and laughed it off, as The Dick’s Last Resort chain is famous for employees acting rudely and unprofessionally toward customers as part of their restaurant concept. Sanders knew what he was getting into by dining there.
Tampa Bay signed Sanders as an undrafted free agent this year but cut him before the 2025 season started. According to Spotrac, he signed a three-year, $2.965 million contract with the Buccaneers. However, he received just $1,572 for his brief stint with the franchise.
Since leaving football, Sanders has shifted his focus to entertainment. He’s pursuing acting, music and modeling while also signing with an agency for non-sports endeavors. Sanders stays active as a content creator on YouTube, where he shares vlogs about his life.
The eldest child of Deion Sanders and his second ex-wife Pilar spent six years at the collegiate level before entering this year’s NFL draft. He played two years each at South Carolina, Jackson State and Colorado.
Sanders earned a second-team All-SWAC selection in 2021 while playing for Jackson State. He played his final four years of college football under his father’s guidance. Deion Sanders, known as “Coach Prime,” coached Shilo at both Jackson State and Colorado.
Brother Finds NFL Success Shilo Sanders Couldn’t
Shilo has a younger brother named Shedeur Sanders who plays quarterback for the Cleveland Browns. He also has a sister named Shelomi. The family’s connections to football run deep, thanks to their father’s Hall of Fame career.
Whether Sanders will attempt to return to professional football remains unclear. His entertainment career is just beginning, and he may decide to commit to that path fully. The agency signing suggests he’s taking the transition seriously rather than viewing it as temporary.
Sanders’ brief NFL experience contrasts sharply with expectations coming out of college. Six years of collegiate experience under his father’s coaching should have prepared him for the professional level. Tampa Bay clearly disagreed after evaluating him during the offseason.
The restaurant roast captures where Sanders finds himself now. He’s not bitter about his NFL career ending before it really started. Instead, he’s embracing new opportunities in entertainment while maintaining his sense of humor about the situation.
His YouTube content gives fans a window into his post-football life. Sanders shares personal vlogs rather than hiding from public view after the disappointment. That openness shows maturity in handling a career setback that most athletes struggle to accept.
