Seahawks Week 10 final injury report hints at huge game for Jaxon Smith-Njigba

The Seattle Seahawks needed to add Rashid Shaheed at the trade deadline because, as it turns out, the team will have few healthy bodies entering Week 10. Maybe Cooper Kupp returns, but for any other productive receiver, only Jaxon Smith-Njigba might be unscathed.

Seattle will be missing Jake Bobo again with a calf injury, Dareke Young is out with a quadriceps issue, rookie Tory Horton (who has six total touchdowns this season) is doubtful with groin and shin problems, and Kupp is questionable with hamstring and heel issues.

The odd part is that Horton was a full participant in practice on Wednesday, but couldn't practice on Thursday, implying that whatever the problems were arose during practice this past week. How long he remains out, assuming he misses Week 10, is unknown. It is also coincidental that the Seahawks added Shaheed this week, and Horton is suddenly unlikely to play.

Seattle Seahawks have a banged-up wide receiver group entering Week 10 versus the Cardinals

Head coach Mike Macdonald did tell reporters on Friday that Horton's issues occurred in Week 9. Wednesday was only a walk-through, though it's still strange he was listed as a full participant.

All of the injuries, even with the addition of Shaheed, hint that Smith-Njigba, already a player who sees a ton of targets, could see even more. At this point, he's been so productive that one could assume he is open on every play. He might need to prove that against the Arizona Cardinals.

While the Cardinals are struggling through the first part of the season, and will be starting backup quarterback Jacoby Brissett (who, admittedly, has been better than starter Kyler Murray in 2025), Arizona still has a solid defense and can give the Seahawks difficulties. Seattle's defense might need to dominate to win the game.

To compound the wide receiver problem, tight end AJ Barner is questionable with a calf injury. If he cannot play, Seattle will be skimming the depth chart for healthy receivers.

The only defensive player with a problem is linebacker Ernest Jones IV. He hurt his knee in Week 9 and is listed as doubtful for Week 10. If he cannot play, the starters at inside linebacker will be Drake Thomas and Tyrice Knight.
