The Philadelphia Eagles have been streaky in the 2025 NFL Season. The team started off 4-0, but then lost two in a row. Well, they won two in a row and entered their bye with a solid 6-2 record. Now set to embark on a huge Monday Night Football test, the Eagles are at Lambeau Field to play the Packers.
And the Packers have struggled this year. Two disastrous losses to the Cleveland Browns and, most recently, the Carolina Panthers have the Packers at a so-so 5-2-1, as they have a tie with the Dallas Cowboys on their record as well.
Green Bay has surely expected to play better this year, and they could be motivated to come out swinging against a team they could again see in the playoffs. Well, when you look at the history of Eagles' head coach Nick Sirianni, it actually paints a great picture for the Eagles' chances and might just guarantee a win in Week 10.
Nick Sirianni's Eagles are 4-0 after the bye in his head coaching career
The Eagles have gone 4-0 after the bye in each year of the Nick Sirianni era, and here is how each of those games turned out:
2021: 27-17 over Washington
2022: 35-13 over Pittsburgh
2023: 21-17 over Kansas City
2024: 20-16 over Cleveland
Sure, not each game was easy, but Philly won the games by a combined 40 points, so their average margin of victory in these games is a strong 10 points. That's the ideal result on MNF against the Packers, as this game could have a huge impact on the NFC playoff seeding. Philadelphia is very likely to win the NFC East again, so they'll be guaranteed a top-4 seed in the NFC.
Well, the Packers could absolutely win the NFC North this year with the way things have looked, and having that head-to-head win would give them the nod for a higher seed if need be. While this isn't quite a 'playoff atmosphere' type of game, it's close to it.
The hope here is that Sirianni has his team prepared for what could be a classic NFC dogfight. He's done a great job this week-to-week, as the Eagles are rarely looking unprepared. With the win, Philly would keep pace with some of the other top teams in the NFC, like the Los Angeles Rams, Seattle Seahawks, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
