The Patriots have added depth at running back and linebacker for their Week 10 matchup against the Buccaneers.
Running back D’Ernest Johnson and linebacker Darius Harris were both elevated from the practice squad to the active roster on Saturday.
Johnson was also elevated last week to serve as depth behind TreVeyon Henderson and Terrell Jennings with Rhamondre Stevenson (toe) out. The veteran running back played on special teams but didn’t see any offensive snaps. We’ll see if that changes Sunday after another week in the system. He has 215 career carries for 989 yards with three touchdowns and 53 catches for 465 yards.
Harris was also elevated in Week 4. He adds depth with Christian Elliss (hip) out behind Robert Spillane, Jack Gibbens, Jahlani Tavai and Marte Mapu.
The veteran linebacker was with the Chiefs on three Super Bowl-winning teams, starting six games over four seasons in Kansas City. He had two tackles on special teams against the Panthers this season.
