Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing Everton’s Iliman Ndiaye after missing out on Morgan Rogers
Aston Villa winger Morgan Rogers had been on Tottenham’s radar for a lengthy period. The Lilywhites also considered making an offer for him during the summer transfer window, but ultimately decided against it. Spurs have now turned their attention elsewhere and could possibly make an offer for Everton winger Iliman Ndiaye in January.
As per TEAMtalk, Ndiaye is now the prime target for Thomas Frank to reinforce his attack in the winter. Spurs have been plagued with injuries this season, with key attackers including Dominic Solanke, Dejan Kulusevski, and James Maddison being sidelined. Brazilian forward Richarlison and French striker Randal Kolo Muani have been struggling for form this season.
After selling club legend Son Heung-min last summer, Spurs have failed to bring in a replacement of similar calibre. With the Lilywhites competing in three competitions this season, Thomas Frank needs to recruit the right players when the transfer window reopens.

TEAMtalk insider Dean Jones stated that Spurs were still monitoring Rogers this season, but the club decided to move on after the 23-year-old signed a new contract at Villa. Jones weighed in on the situation, saying (h/t TEAMtalk):
“Friday was not a great day for Tottenham in terms of transfer news as two of the players they really like from within the Premier League look like they won’t be gettable any time soon.”
“They always knew it was going to be a stretch, but there really is no limit in terms of the ambition Spurs are going to show from this point on. Morgan Rogers is someone they really like, and they were very close to initiating late talks in the summer to try to sign him.”
“David Moyes has spoken about the speculation and has put a lid on it for now by insisting he won’t be going anywhere. It’s probably one to keep an eye on.”
Tottenham now views Ndiaye as the ideal alternative for Rogers. The Senegalese has been a significant asset for the Toffees since joining them in 2024. He scored 14 goals and provided one assist in 49 appearances for Everton. He is currently contracted to the club until 2029, and Everton will likely demand a hefty fee for his services.
Can Spurs hijack Ndiaye’s move?
Several major European clubs are set to battle the Lilywhites for Ndiaye’s signature. Richarlison had previously been linked with a potential return to Merseyside, and Tottenham could work on a swap deal with Everton to sign Ndiaye in January. However, according to TEAMtalk’s transfer correspondent, Fraser Fletcher, Everton have no intention of letting Ndiaye leave anytime soon.
