“Big News”: Tampa Bay Buccaneers Activate Star Tackle

Tampa Bay Buccaneers right tackle Luke Goedeke initially suffered a foot injury in Week 1 but managed to play Week 2. Unfortunately, the star right tackle aggravated the injury in the same game, causing the Buccaneers to place him on injured reserve ahead of Week 3. As a result, Goedeke has missed the previous six games and seven weeks.

Luke Goedeke returned to practice this week, participating in a limited capacity on Wednesday and Thursday before being a full participant on Friday. The team listed him as questionable and had until 4 p.m. ET on Saturday to activate him for Week 10. According to Greg Auman of*FOX Sports,*the Buccaneers activated Goedeke before the deadline, and he will play against the New England Patriots.

Big news for the Bucs vs. Patriots: right tackle Luke Goedeke is being activated from injured reserve and will play for the first time since his foot injury in September.

Charlie Heck has taken over as the starting right tackle for the past six games, with Luke Goedeke sidelined. The 6-foot-8 swing tackle has been a liability in pass protection, allowing 32 pressures, 29 hurries, and three sacks. Heck hasn’t been any better in the running game, posting a 44.0 run-blocking grade, according to PFF.
