Tottenham identify 25-year-old alternative in the Premier League after Morgan Rogers blow

Tottenham are set to pursue a move for Iliman Ndiaye as an alternative for top target Morgan Rogers after a massive update.

According to Team Talk, Tottenham could turn their attention towards Iliman Ndiaye as an alternative to Morgan Rogers. The latter has now agreed a new deal with Aston Villa, which all but rules out a move in the foreseeable future, as the Everton star is the next name that Spurs could explore a move for.

Tottenham gave away the feeling of not having a complete window back in the summer, as they left it short in the attacking areas. A versatile attacker was what Thomas Frank needed despite signing Xavi Simons late in the window, as they wanted to bring in a cover for the injured James Maddison.

Morgan Rogers was discussed internally as Tottenham were planning on making a bid for the England international, but never brought it forward. Spurs were linked with a January move for Rogers, although the Aston Villa man is no longer on their list as things stand.

Rogers has agreed a new deal with Aston Villa, which all but rules out a sale in the foreseeable future, as the Birmingham-based side have managed to kill off speculation with the new agreement. The news came as a blow to Tottenham and other teams like Chelsea, who held a big interest in the England international.

With Spurs intent on bringing in a top-drawer attacker, they are now looking at 25-year-old Iliman Ndiaye as an alternative for Rogers. Tottenham were linked with the Senegal international, who also has the interest of some top clubs from the Premier League heading into the January window.

Everton are unlikely to entertain Iliman Ndiaye approaches

Everton are set to demand a premium price for Ndiaye, although they are not planning to consider any approaches for the 25-year-old ahead of the winter window. Spurs had been interested in him, as they see him as one of the top alternatives to Rogers.

Everton views the 25-year-old as a key part of their squad, as David Moyes will not be interested in parting ways with Ndiaye in January. Hence, Spurs may fail with a move if they were to approach Ndiaye, as they may either have to wait until at least the summer or opt for another alternative to the Toffees star.
