Stamford Bridge couldn’t believe what they had seen when Malo Gusto opened the scoring for Chelsea in their 3-0 win against Wolves in the Premier League.
The Frenchman headed home an Alejandro Garnacho cross to finally give the Blues the lead, the first goal he had scored in his 98 appearances for the Blues.
It was also Gusto’s first goal of his professional career, and brought an end to a run of picking up advanced positions without getting his reward.
Stamford Bridge was starting to get frustrated at laboured build up play from the Blues, with them having plenty of shots without really threatening Sam Johnstone between the sticks.

Enzo Maresca nearly celebrated with Chelsea players after Malo Gusto goal vs Wolves
Enzo Maresca was no doubt relieved to see anyone score, however will have been particularly thrilled to see it be the right-back who found the net after frequently selecting him whether Reece James has been fit or not.
In fact, journalist Kieran Gill stated that the boss nearly set off down the touchline to celebrate with his players, before restraining himself at the last moment.
He said: “When Malo Gusto headed in there to make it 1-0, Enzo Maresca went to sprint down the touchline to celebrate, then stopped himself. Relief from the Chelsea manager that they’ve finally broken through Wolves.”
It is certainly a positive sign to see Maresca restrain from getting fully involved in the celebrations after what happened when the Blues played Liverpool at Stamford Bridge.

Enzo Maresca has history of being sent off celebrating
The Italian raced down the touchline to join in with Estevao Willian’s celebrations, only to be sent off for his antics.
The boss will have been sending the message to his players to stop receiving red cards, however there was far less jeopardy from his personal sanction.
In fact, the Chelsea owners loved Maresca’s reaction to the winner, as much as they are looking to see the disciplinary record worked on.
