Despite the success of the Eagles from an overall team perspective, fantasy football players who drafted DeVonta Smith and A.J. Brown may be a bit disappointed.
ESPN's NFL analysts offered a glimmer of hope for owners of the Eagles' "dynamic duo" in the second half of the 2025 regular season.
"WRs Brown and DeVonta Smith's fantasy production and rapport with Hurts are well-documented. Neither has been consistent this season, but Philadelphia has the third-easiest remaining schedule for fantasy wide receivers. Both are excellent trade targets for managers in need of a receiver."
Things are looking up for Brown and Smith owners in fantasy football
The Eagles are set to take on the Cowboys (2,446 passing yards allowed first), Commanders (2,417 passing yards allowed second), while also taking on the Bears and Packers, both of which have had underwhelming defensive secondaries.
Brown has picked up his production over his past two games, putting together a four-reception, 121-yard, 2-touchdown performance against the Vikings and a six-reception, 80-yard performance against the Giants. He's currently ranked 38th in PPR leagues, after being ranked 10th in many preseason fantasy outlets.
Smith has put together performances of over 80 yards in three of his last four games, including a nine-reception, 183-yard output against the Vikings in Week 7. Smith currently ranks 17th among major fantasy PPR leagues due to his recent uptick in production and was projected as the 22nd-best wide receiver coming into the season.
While a more manageable schedule is sure to be highly advantageous to Brown and Smith fantasy owners, the recent trade of John Metchie could also allow for more attention from quarterback Jalen Hurts. While Metchie wasn't dominating the stat sheet by any means, "de-cluttering" the wide receiver room could allow for fewer distractions in the Eagles' offense.
The Eagles are set to take on the Green Bay Packers in Week 10, who have at most allowed 319 passing yards to the Dallas Cowboys during their 40-40 overtime tie in Week 4. Since then, the Packers haven't allowed a quarterback to surpass 236 passing yards (Arizona Cardinals' Jacoby Brissett) this season.

Last season, Brown had five receptions for 119 yards, and Smith recorded seven receptions for 84 yards against Green Bay in their Week 1 regular season matchup in 2024.
