Top young striker admits he dreams of a Chelsea transfer

Chelsea signed two quality young strikers in the summer 2025 transfer window to replace the outgoing Nicolas Jackson, who will likely need to be sold elsewhere after his one year loan with Bayern Munich is up.

Joao Pedro has proven to be a solid supporting striker, while Liam Delap is a highly promising out and out No. 9 with both finishing chops and all around play, as well as the box presence Chelsea crave.

But Chelsea are still going to be after another striker in the next transfer window, as Pedro is more of a secondary option beneath the striker. And the Blues could pounce for someone with more quality on the ball and explosiveness than Delap.

That could be Etta Eyong, who is wanted by a who’s who of great clubs in Europe. Barcelona are watching him the closest in La Liga, and you have to assume Real Madrid will be interested, too.

Meanwhile, Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United, and probably a few other notable clubs in the Premier League are scouting the biggest breakout star of the 2025/26 La Liga season so far.

It looks like in the early going, Chelsea may be the favorites to land Eyong. In an interview with Give Me Sport journalist Ben Jacobs, the Levante star spoke highly of the Blues and their legendary strikers past:

“Growing up, Chelsea was the English team I probably watched the most because of Drogba, and Eto’o was there was a year as well. Chelsea have often signed incredible African players. There are so many big clubs in England, but as for [joining] Chelsea, why not? It would be a dream for me to play for Chelsea.”

Eyong has been a revelation this season on a pretty lousy Levante team that just made it up to La Liga. He is creating his own chances, scoring goals for fun, and running the channels.

Maybe signing a striker from La Liga with that skill set is a flashback to Jackson, but Eyong is a far more consistent player with more refined finishing chops. He’s worth watching.
