David Moyes discussed the performance of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall after Everton’s 2-0 victory over Fulham.
David Moyes reflected on Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s performance in Everton’s victory over Fulham and declared: ‘He was terrific’.
The Toffees earned their first win in four Premier League games with a 2-0 triumph over the West London side. Idrissa Gana Gueye and Michael Keane netted either side of half-time, while Everton had three goals disallowed for offside.
One of those efforts chalked off was a strike from Dewsbury-Hall, who also whipped in the corner for Keane’s effort. The £25 million summer signing from Chelsea has started every Premier League game he’s been available for, scoring one goal and creating two in 10 games.
And Moyes reckons that the attacking midfielder might be flying slightly under the radar in terms of his impact he’s had to make Everton more ‘cultured’. The Blues boss said at his post-match press conference: “He was terrific today, Dewsbury-Hall. I think he has made such a difference to the team. He has made us much more creative and cultured in the way we play. He might be going under the radar a wee bit from Evertonians. He is playing so well and he does the work as well.
“He covers big distances and has done a really good job. He is an intelligent boy as well, wants the team to do well, wants the team to play well and has certainly helped us play better.”
On his two goalscorers, Moyes added via the club’s website: “I was really pleased for them. Gana is actually beginning to become a goalscoring midfield player. I think everybody knows Keano's got the ability to score. But for me, the biggest thing was scoring from a set piece. I talk about it every day. And I think about it every day to try to find ways, how are we going to score? Why are we not scoring? What can we do better to get it?”
