Hurzeler says Albion have quality, personality and togetherness to pass Palace test

The Seagulls head to the home of arch rivals Crystal Palace looking for a second away win of the Premier League campaign.

They are likely to be greeted by a hostile environment both on and off the pitch.

But Hurzeler knows how much a win would mean to his team and their fans – similar to when they enjoyed a 3-1 success at Chelsea six weeks ago.

Albion went down 4-2 at Manchester United in their last away league fixture and slipped behind at a period when the home side turned up the heat both on and off the pitch.

United seemed fired up by a sense of injustice – rightly or wrongly – over refereeing decisions and Albion made mistakes as the pressure increased.

Asked whether that was a fair assessment and what his team could learn from it ahead of Selhurst Park, Hurzeler said: “I wouldn't agree with that, that we couldn't handle the intensity.

“I think, when we go back to the United game. we started really well. In the end, we made too easy mistakes.

“That's why we lost the game and it was not the fact that we couldn't handle the atmosphere, that we couldn't handle the intensity.

“It's important to always reflect games like this, it's important to re-analyse them understand why things happen.

He then gave reasons why Albion can pass the test posed by Palace.

He said: “I think it's completely new game.

“It's a new opportunity for us as a team to show that we are ready for that and I think, and I'm quite convinced, that we that we can handle the atmosphere there quite well.
