Wolves may not have been able to claim their first win of the season against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday night, but soon-to-be new manager Rob Edwards would have learnt some vital lessons.
The Black and Gold club fell to another defeat in the Premier League as Malo Gusto, Joao Pedro and Pedro Neto scored to earn the home side a 3-0 win, and leave Wolves stranded at the bottom of the division with just one point from 11 games.
That came after the club agreed a deal with Middlesbrough to appoint the 42-year-old as their new manager, replacing Vitor Pereira in the dugout after he went the opening ten games of the campaign in the Premier League without a win and was sacked.
While the former Molineux defender wasn't present at the game, he would surely have been watching, knowing that his arrival at the club is imminent, and he would have learnt some valuable lessons after the performance of the team in the game.

One of the big criticisms from Pereira's reign this season was his failure to use captain Joao Gomes on a regular basis in midfield.
The Brazilian, who is club captain, had started seven of the previous ten Premier League games before the clash with Chelsea, however, he had found himself on the sidelines in recent weeks when Pereira was on the brink of losing his job.
It was always a strange decision, and his return to the fold coincided with a strong performance in midfield where he went toe-to-toe with Moises Caicedo and held his own.
His midfield partner, Andre, was another who had found himself on the outside looking in during the final weeks of Pereira's reign, and it never really made sense as to why, considering how good he has been for the club since his arrival.
Together, those two make Wolves much harder to break down and more difficult to play against, which will only help the team in the long run.
Alongside them, it's clear that one good thing Pereira did this season was bringing Ladislav Krejci to the club in the summer. The Czech defender, who can also play in midfield, has been one of the better performers for the club this season despite their struggles, and should be one of the first names on the team sheet going forward too.
The goalkeeper position has also been something of a concern in recent times, with Jose Sa and Sam Johnstone battling for the number one jersey. But despite the defeats, it's quite clear now that Johnstone is the better option of the two and it would only do the rest of the team a benefit if they knew he was the undisputed number one stopper going forward.
With those four players performing well and being picked regularly, Edwards will have a solid base to build from and Wolves will have a much better chance of staying in the division.
