Leeds United boss Daniel Farke loves a hostile football ground
Leeds United travel to the City Ground to face fellow Premier League strugglers Nottingham Forest on Sunday afternoon.
The Whites produced an underwhelming performance on the south coast as a Diego Gomez brace and a Danny Welbeck opener condemned Daniel Farke’s men to a 3-0 loss at the Amex Stadium. Results on Saturday have left Leeds sitting just one point and two places above the relegation zone as they prepare for what will be a potentially crucial visit to the City Ground as they face a Forest side currently second from bottom in the table.
Sean Dyche’s men face a tricky visit to reigning champions Liverpool on the other side of the international break but will then face a run of what they will view as winnable fixture as they take on the likes of Everton, Brighton and Wolverhampton Wanderers as the season heads towards the crucial festive period. By contrast, Leeds have a testing run-in to Christmas with Farke’s men set to face Aston Villa, Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool over the same timeframe.
That is why former Forest defender Luke Chambers believes his old club must come out on top in Sunday’s meeting of two sides in the bottom six of the table.
He told talkSPORT: “You feel it has to be because I think they can close the gap potentially to two points if they beat them today. And you talk about tricky runs, they’ve got Villa, Man City, Chelsea, and Liverpool coming up. So if Forest can take points off Leeds today, Forest would like to think they can then nick a few points in the coming weeks because it would look unlikely that Leeds would be able to do the same.”
