Burnley star continues to make transfer plans clear – Clarets only a stop-gap

Burnley defender Quilindschy Hartman has admitted he’s eyeing a more to a ‘bigger Premier League club’ at some point.

[Soccer News cover comments](https://www.soccernews.nl/news/quilindschy-hartman-terug-naar-feyenoord/) from the full-back today made in an interview with ViaPlay. He was asked about his ‘dream career path’.

The full-back joined Burnley in the summer. He started his career at Feyenoord’s academy, progressing throughout the ranks before establishing himself in the first team. Success followed as he won the Eredivisie and earned a call-up to the Netherlands national team.

He was slowed down by a serious knee injury in 2024 but has since bounce back, securing his desired move to the Premier League with Burnley this summer.

He’s been a massive hit since day one, quickly establishing himself as first-choice under Scott Parker. He’s rewarded that faith with four assists in ten games in the Premier League so far.

The 23-year-old has made it clear that he’s delighted with his start, but he’s also spoke openly about seeing Burnley as a stepping stone to more.

Burnley stay not long term

That’s something he’s now reiterated, with his path also including a potential return to Feyenoord at the end of his career.

“That I might play here for one or two years and then go to a bigger Premier League club,” he said when asked about his ideal path.

“Then I want to play there for a few years and then maybe make one more nice step. And then just back to Feyenoord. That is actually the ideal situation… That I am 32, 33 or 34 and that I could just play football for Feyenoord for a few more years.

“I would really like that, because I still follow all the matches. Every now and then you look back and think that was really great. It is a time that I have enjoyed bizarrely… I would think it would be a shame if I were never allowed to play football in De Kuip again.”
