Liverpool head to Manchester City in a crucial top-of-the-table clash this Sunday afternoon. The reigning Premier League champions are keen to keep up their recent resurgence following a slight dip in domestic form.

Arne Slot's team have bounced back with victories over Aston Villa and more notably Real Madrid, and will be aiming for another three points on the road this Sunday, much like their 2-0 triumph at the Etihad in February.

On the other hand, Pep Guardiola's City side thrashed Borussia Dortmund 4-1 in the Champions League midweek and will be eager to maintain their home dominance when the Reds visit.

Although it may be premature to scrutinise the Premier League table too closely, neither team can afford to lose more points in the emerging title race against leaders Arsenal.

Bonfire Night might be over, but there are likely to be more fireworks this afternoon. Here's all the information you need to tune in.

What's the Man City vs Liverpool team news?

City have several players back in contention for the Liverpool clash after being rested during their Champions League victory over Dortmund. Ruben Dias, Rayan Cherki and Bernardo Silva all appeared from the substitutes' bench on Wednesday evening and may be included in Guardiola's starting XI.

Rodri's availability remains uncertain after missing the match following a minor injury setback. Speaking to TNT Sports ahead of the European fixture, Guardiola explained: "He does not feel perfect so that is why he do not take the risk.

"He will comeback, this is a little setback. He needs a bit more time to feel good and play football. It does not matter if he plays good or bad knowing that he is fine and will not be out for a while."

Slot may soon have star signing Alexander Isak available again after the forward missed the Reds' previous four matches with a groin problem. The Swedish international's selection for the latest national squad offers encouragement to Liverpool supporters eagerly anticipating his comeback.

Jeremie Frimpong, Alisson Becker and Giovanni Leoni are all ruled out for the Reds, though Ryan Gravenberch and Curtis Jones have both recovered well from recent injury lay-offs in a boost for Slot.
