Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff has been married to Christen Harper since June 2024, but he initially kept their relationship private, sharing it only with his closest family and friends.
Goff, 31, was selected first overall by the Los Angeles Rams in 2016 and met his future wife three years later. Goff and Harper are now very much in the public eye, but the quarterback made an effort to keep their romance a secret at the beginning.

Harper has since proven her loyalty by relocating to Detroit after Goff was dealt in a blockbuster trade to the Lions, which saw Matthew Stafford move in the opposite direction. However, in Los Angeles, Goff was mindful of keeping his relationship private and also felt pressured to produce.

Goff grew up in California, leaving the state for the first time in 2021 when he was traded to the Lions. He was romantically linked with Harper after earning his second Pro Bowl appearance with the Rams, but kept the information inside a tight circle.
The media began speculating after Harper was seen attending Rams games, but a source told SportsGossip in 2019 that Goff wanted to keep the news private. "Jared is hiding her from everyone except some friends," the source said.
Before meeting Harper, Goff also claimed that dating was difficult in Los Angeles. While Goff claimed it was easy to meet women, he insisted that keeping them interested was a more challenging task.

Goff placed pressure on himself to succeed, and told Bleacher Report in 2017: "Do you think Tom Brady is with Gisele [Bundchen] if he doesn’t win a Super Bowl? No. There’s nothing that matters if you don’t win games.
"It’s just like if you’re an actor or actress or a rapper or anything. If you don’t produce, people won’t care."
Goff later told ESPN: "It’s not tough to meet them (women). No, I mean, you can meet a bunch of girls out here. It’s tough to keep them."

Thankfully for Goff, he met Harper in 2019, and they were engaged three years later. The model also had her whole life in Los Angeles, but agreed to relocate her livelihood to Detroit after Goff was sent to the Lions.
"We've always been in California, so there was an excitement to a fresh start, but at the same time, my whole career has been in L.A. and I did not know what it was going to look like moving away from that," Harper told the New York Post.
"I feel lucky to kind of start branching out into doing different things. I think the space allowed me to do that because if I stayed in L.A., I probably would have continued to do the same work I've done for years."

Their relationship has since blossomed, after tying the knot on June 22, 2024, before welcoming their first child, Romy, in July 2025. Harper revealed that she had no plans to find a husband when she first met Goff, but she quickly fell for the quarterback.

Harper and Goff met on the celebrity dating app Raya after she had just ended a long-term relationship. "I was truly not looking for anything at the time," she said to Sports Illustrated.
"I had just gotten out of a long relationship, and I was trying to stay single for a year. Then I met him and the rest is history, baby."
