As Everton and David Moyes look to make progress this year, the Scotsman has sent a clear demand to Dan Friedkin as to what he needs in the transfer market.
In his second spell at Everton, we’ve seen David Moyes stabilise the club and steer them away from any potential relegation trouble last season.
Right now, the Toffees are looking inconsistent, but a win over Fulham this weekend lifted Everton to 11th in the Premier League table and instilled a little more positivity on Merseyside.
Moyes has been trying to lift spirits within the team recently, but he needs more than that. In fact, he’s made it abundantly clear what he needs, and it all comes down to the next transfer window.

David Moyes wants a big signing
Speaking after the win over Fulham on Saturday (via the club website), Moyes was looking ahead to the future and explained what he wants to see happen in the January transfer window and beyond.
He said: “I think we have to build. Look, I trust the owners will help us in all the windows as we go forward and we’ll try to make things better as we go along.
“We need to get people believing in Everton like we do, like the supporters here do, and what we want us to be in the future. To do that we need to keep picking up the wins and attracting top players like Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Jack Grealish and players of that ilk. We need to keep attracting that level of players to come to the Club.”
If that wasn’t a clear plea to Dan Friedkin, then I don’t know what is. Whether the Everton owner will back his manager suitably in January or not remains to be seen, though.

Who could Everton sign in January?
We know Friedkin has been injecting cash into Everton, with £45m added as recently as last month. But how much of that will go towards signing new players?
It’s thought Moyes is keen on shopping in the Championship again. However, after Tyler Dibling’s tough start at Everton, he may think again.
Instead, he would be better off looking at those who are out of favour at the Big Six clubs and trying to grab a bargain.
We know Richarlison is keen to return to Everton, and with the Toffees eager to bolster their attacking ranks, it feels like the most suitable and sensible deal they could strike in January.
Elsewhere, Everton are also looking at Charlie Cresswell, who would be a real statement signing at the back given the amount of interest in the English defender.
And, a surprise move for Dusan Vlahovic could well be on the cards as a very exciting alternative to Richarlison. It’s hard to imagine, but who would have thought Jack Grealish would be turning out for the Toffees?
