Let’s look at some of the statistics that might tell the tale on Sunday afternoon as the New York Giants face the Chicago Bears in NFL Week 10.
* **Jaxson Dart** leads the NFL with 5 games of 1+ pass touchdown and 1+ rush touchdown this season. Dart is also the only quarterback since 1970 with 1+ pass touchdown and 1+ rush touchdown in 5 of his first 6 NFL starts.
* The Giants defense has deployed man coverage on a league-high 44.4% of their opponents’ dropbacks this season. They have faced an averaged time to throw of 2.52 seconds when playing man coverage, the 6th-quickest mark in the NFL. Caleb Williams has held onto the ball for three full seconds on average (3.00) when facing man coverage this season, the 2nd-longest in the NFL, quicker than only rookie Cam Ward (3.04 seconds). Williams has thrown 6 touchdowns without an interception against man, as each of his 4 interceptions this season have come against zone. \[**NOTE:** This number flies in the face of the narrative that defensive coordinator Shane Bowen prefers not to use man coverage\].
* **Abdul Carter** has generated a team-high 20 quick pressures (under 2.5 seconds) this season, the 3rd-most in the NFL and the most by a rookie through the first nine weeks of a season since 2018. Additionally, Carter’s 20 quick pressures are over two times more than the next closest rookie this season, as Donovan Ezeiruaku ranks next closest with 9. Nik Bonitto (22) and Will Anderson Jr. (21) are the only pass rushers league-wide with more quick pressures.
* With injuries to center **John Michael Schmitz** and right tackle **Jermaine Eluemunor**, the Giants may feature two new starters on a line that has created just 0.6 yards before contact per designed carry (5th-fewest) and let pressure reach the passer on 38.2% of dropbacks (8th-highest) this season. The right side of Eluemunor and guard **Greg Van Roten**, which had allowed a pressure rate of 10.8% in the first eight weeks (6th-highest), has now started rookie **Marcus Mbow** at tackle, who has forfeited pressure of 19.2%. The left side of the line with guard **Jon Runyan** and tackle **Andrew Thomas** has allowed a slightly lower pressure rate than the right (9.3%, 14th-highest), but Thomas has significantly regressed the last three weeks. From weeks 1-6, Thomas surrendered a pressure on just 1.7% of his pass sets (lowest, min. 50 pass blocking snaps), while from Weeks 7-9 his allowed pressure rate increased to 13.9% (4th-highest).
* The Giants offense has gone no-huddle on at least 22% of their offensive snaps in each game since **Jaxson Dart** took over as the full-time starter in Week 4 against the Chargers after doing so on less than 10% of snaps in each game from Weeks 1-3. On average, they have gone no huddle on 30.4% of their snaps since Week 4, the 2nd-highest rate in the NFL, trailing only the Commanders (68.9%). In Weeks 1-3, their no huddle rate of 6.4% ranked 14th-lowest in the NFL.
* **Tyrone Tracy Jr.** (3) and **Devin Singletary** (1) have combined for 4 explosive runs (10+ yards) across 86 carries this season, resulting in an explosive run rate of 4.7%, a mark more than two times lower than the explosive run rate of 9.9% posted by **Cam Skattebo** prior to his season-ending injury suffered in Week 8. As a team, the Giants have recorded 26 explosive runs, including 10 combined by **Jaxson Dart** (7) and **Russell Wilson** (3) on scramble attempts. Only the Chiefs (13) and Chargers (11) have generated more explosive runs on scrambles.

**Justin Herbert, 2020:** 15 passing |2 rushing | 17 total

* **Brian Burns** leads the league in sacks with 11.0, and is second in tackles for loss with 14.
