Former Newcastle United favourite Papiss Cisse is now playing Sunday League football and enjoyed an eventful outing this weekend.
It’s difficult to imagine making the kind of impact Papiss Cisse made upon joining Newcastle United in 2012.
The Senegalese forward had excelled at Freiburg before joining the Magpies in the January transfer window.
The impact was incredible: Cisse scored 13 goals in 14 games after arriving at St James’ Park, with a stunning goal against Chelsea a particular highlight.
Cisse went through ups and downs with his goalscoring form after that remarkable impact, before leaving Newcastle in 2016.

Papiss Cisse’s eventful Sunday League appearance
Cisse turned out for Shandong Luneng, Alanyaspor, Fenerbahce, Caykur Rizespor, Amiens and Palm City before returning to English football.
The 40-year-old has dipped his toe into the waters of Sunday League football, representing Wythenshawe AFC in their veteran side.
Playing in the Cheshire Vets League Premier Division, Cisse is seemingly enjoying himself.

In a clip posted by the Daily Mail’s Nathan Salt, Cisse had a penalty saved and saw his rebound effort go out for a corner against South Liverpool.
Cisse went straight over to take that corner kick and knocked the ball straight out of play before jogging away, chuckling to himself.
The Telegraph’s James Ducker later added that Cisse went on to rack up six goals in an eventful afternoon for the striker.
Ducker posted a clip of Cisse scoring a sumptuous chip, leaving fans and staff in awe of the technique on show.
This truly was a case of the good, the bad and the ugly as Cisse’s brilliance was accompanied by some rather comical moments.
Cisse’s Newcastle days may be long gone, but he clearly still has some talent in his locker.
