Tottenham Hotspur fans urged to back Thomas Frank despite the inconsistent run of results
Tottenham have experienced a mixed start to the season under Thomas Frank. The Lilywhites currently sit fifth in the Premier League, just two points shy of second-placed Sunderland. However, there is growing concern among supporters that the team is dropping unnecessary points at home. Spurs have now dropped points in five of their opening six league matches at N17.
In contrast, they are flourishing in Europe after making a strong start to their Champions League campaign. Tottenham have collected eight points from their first four matches and remain unbeaten in the competition so far. They are also unbeaten in their last 22 home matches in European competitions, which stands in complete contrast to their domestic form at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Thomas Frank needs to quickly steady the ship at Tottenham.
These inconsistent Premier League performances could prove costly later in the season if improvements are not made soon. Thomas Frank is aiming to build on last year’s Europa League achievements, and to do that, he must ensure his side secure steady results in domestic competition.
Thomas Frank must make Tottenham consistent this season
Tottenham have been unpredictable under Frank. This week highlighted their inconsistency at home once again. They were convincingly beaten by Chelsea in the Premier League, struggling in all areas of the pitch. Yet just days later, they scored four goals against Copenhagen in the Champions League, producing a dominant performance for their supporters.
Broadcaster Kweku Afari has now highlighted what he sees as a key issue at N17, urging fans to give Frank time to address it. Speaking on talkSPORT (via X), Afari said,
“It’s a really interesting one with Spurs. It’s Jekyll and Hyde when it comes to Spurs in the Champions League and in the Premier League. In the Champions League, they’re still unbeaten and play really well. But in the Premier League, they’ve been inconsistent. I love Thomas Frank as a manager and I think he’s amazing.”

The broadcaster added,
“If Spurs fans give him time, he’ll stabilise the club and maybe return to where they were under Pochettino. But in terms of the style of football, there is a feeling within Spurs fans that they don’t only want to win games, but they want to be entertained. So I just think the mesh between Thomas Frank and Spurs isn’t as seamless as you’d like to think.”
Afari believes Tottenham are showing two very different versions of themselves this season, hence the ‘Jekyll and Hyde’ reference. One team is strong and assured in Europe, while the other has struggled for consistency in the Premier League. However, he remains confident that Frank will eventually address the issues at N17 if given time.
Spurs fans expect free-flowing, attacking football from their team on a regular basis, something that has been less frequent under Thomas Frank. The Danish tactician has adopted a pragmatic approach instead at N17. But with time and patience, it is believed that the ex-Brentford boss will win supporters over and build on last season’s Europa League success… in his own way.
