Liverpool team confirmed to face Manchester City in the Premier League at the Etihad Stadium.

Arne Slot has named his Liverpool team to face Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.

The Reds has opted to stick with the same line-up from the 1-0 win over Real Madrid in the Champions League. It means that Florian Wirtz keeps his spot and returns to the starting XI in the Premier League. Wirtz is set to feature on the left-hand side of the attack.

Andy Robertson continues at left-back ahead of Milos Kerkez, while Giorgi Mamardashvili features in goal with Alisson Becker still absent with a hamstring issue. Head coach Slot revealed that he expects Alisson to return to action after the upcoming international break.

Meanwhile, Alexander Isak is back on the bench having missed the previous four matches because of a groin issue. Jeremie Frimpong (hamstring) is still unavailable.

Liverpool have the chance to close the gap on Premier League leaders Arsenal to five points should they deliver a victory over City. Arsenal were held to a 2-2 draw against Sunderland last night. However, City are also in pursuit of slashing the Gunners’ advantage to four points in Pep Guardiola’s 1000th game of his managerial career.

Liverpool: Mamardashvili, Van Dijk, Konate, Wirtz, Szoboszlai, Mac Allister, Salah, Bradley, Ekitike, Robertson, Gravenberch.

Subs: Woodman, Gomez, Endo, Kerkez, Isak, Chiesa, Jones, Gakpo, Ngumoha.
