EFL clubs eyeing move for Liverpool defender in January 2026 window

One Liverpool defender is expected to move on in January.

In the summer, the right-back position was reinforced with Jeremie Frimpong arriving from Bayer Leverkusen.

Unfortunately, the Dutch full-back has not had the start to life on Merseyside as he would’ve hoped for, as he has already been sidelined for a large amount of time with injuries.

Conor Bradley has re-asserted himself as Liverpool’s starting right-back as a result, and with that performance against Real Madrid earlier this week, he looks secure in the team.

Another right-back within the ranks at Liverpool is none other than Calvin Ramsay.

The Scottish full-back made an unexpected start in Liverpool’s recent Carabao Cup defeat to Crystal Palace.

A decision from Arne Slot that definitely turned some heads, not only because it was Ramsay’s first senior appearance in just over 1,000 days, but also because he delivered a composed and confident display despite being on the losing side.

According to the Daily Mail, Calvin Ramsay is expected to secure a loan move away from Liverpool in January, with several English Football League clubs monitoring the 22-year-old’s situation closely.

Ramsay has already been loaned out on four separate occasions to Preston, Bolton, Wigan and Kilmarnock and there appears to be another move on the horizon.

Liverpool U21s coach Rob Page recently revealed his plans to explore a loan move for Ramsay.

“I’ve been really impressed. I think it’s been a conscious effort among a lot of people, the medical team, sports science, coaches, members of staff, to get him into a position now where in January we can seriously be looking about getting a club to go out on loan or seeing what the next step is for Rambo.”
