The New York Jets' organization underwent a seismic makeover last week, shipping away two of their franchise cornerstones in Sauce Gardner and Quinnen Williams in a pair of trades that altered the course of the team for the foreseeable future.
The Jets now come out of their bye week as a depleted, new-look football team in search of its second consecutive win in as many games. The 1-7 Jets are in for a barn-burner against the lowly 2-6 Cleveland Browns in Week 10.
Cleveland will continue its tour of the AFC East with a third straight game against the division, having beaten the Miami Dolphins 31-6 back in Week 8 before a disappointing 32-13 loss to the New England Patriots a week ago.
As for the Jets, this will be their second game in a row against the AFC North, having scored their first victory of the season in a 39-38 thriller against the Cincinnati Bengals before their bye week late last month.
The Jets used that bye week to get healthy, and have ruled zero players out for this week's game. Most notably, star wide receiver Garrett Wilson is questionable with a knee injury but is expected to return after missing each of his team's last two games.
Linebacker Kiko Mauigoa (concussion), running back Khalil Herbert (groin), and backup offensive lineman Xavier Newman (ankle) are all listed as questionable. Newman appears the most likely to sit out after missing Friday’s practice, with the Jets elevating Kohl Levao from the practice squad to likely fill his spot.
As for the Browns, wide receiver Isaiah Bond has been ruled out with a foot injury. Tight end Harold Fannin Jr. (ankle), linebacker Carson Schwesinger (ankle), wide receiver Cedric Tillman (hamstring), and offensive tackle Cornelius Lucas (back) are all listed as questionable.
