The Green Bay Packers were the most disappointing team in the league last week. Despite being 13.5-point home favorites, they couldn’t get past the visiting Carolina Panthers.
That’s why some people may not love their chances of beating the defending Super Bowl champions on Monday Night Football. Of course, Matt LaFleur isn’t like most people. When asked about the upcoming matchup, the Packers head coach sounded quite excited:
“Monday Night Football, defending world champions, Lambeau Field. It doesn’t get much better than that,” LaFleur said, via Matt Schneidman.

The Packers have been two different teams during the Matt LaFleur era. They can be aggressive and go toe-to-toe with the best teams in the league, or play down to their subpar opposition’s level and lay an egg like they did last week.
That’s quite frustrating. You never know what version of them you’re going to get, and chances are that they’re going to look like a Super Bowl contender against the Eagles just days after looking like a first-round exit last Sunday.
The Packers need to be more aggressive with their play-calling. They can’t run-block to save their life, and as such, there’s no point in trying to insist on the running game as much as they do, especially given their plethora of options for the passing game and the fact that they have a true gunslinger sitting in the pocket.
The Eagles revamped their defense with several moves at the trade deadline. They will put plenty of pressure on Jordan Love, and unless the head coach puts him in a position to succeed and gives him some freedom, things could get ugly.
