The football world is reeling after Dallas Cowboys defensive end Marshawn Kneeland died at 24. Authorities ruled it a suicide following a police chase Wednesday night. But his family isn’t buying the official story.

Kneeland’s cousin Jasmin is pointing fingers at the cops. She believes something went terribly wrong with his brother during that pursuit. Not surprisingly, the critical accusation is enough to start a fresh debate.
Marshawn Kneeland’s Cousin Blames Police for His Death
Jasmin Kneeland spoke to the Daily Mail with serious allegations against police. She’s convinced they played a role in her cousin’s death. The most emotional part? The Cowboys DE had been planning to celebrate his first TD with family.
“I truly think they killed him, I truly do,” she said. “Because why else would he run for his life then kill himself in a porta-potty?”
According to Jasmine, Marshawn wasn’t the kind of person the reports are making him out to be. She said he wasn’t violent or hot-headed, and that something must have really scared him to make him run.
I just can’t w/these people anymore. No wonder their community has gone to SHIT. Not only they no longer demand GREATNESS from self OR FROM OTHERS W/IN THEIR TRIBE…they NEVER TAKE ACCOUNTABILITY FOR POOR LIFE CHOICES. Y’all deserve UR SHIT LOT IN LIFE. https://t.co/4WWkU0oIa0

She described him as a big kid who loved his family, enjoyed making TikTok videos with the younger ones, and was always generous — often buying things for them just to make them happy.
Jasmin struggled to reconcile the Marshawn she knew with what happened. “I mean, why would he do something like that all of a sudden? That’s not the person I know. Our family is utterly devastated.” Her accusation matches Stephen A. Smith’s shocking claim as well.
“We had this big reunion planned this week at the home where he grew up… We eat, we laugh, we pray together. Everybody’s so proud of Marshawn. He’s come such a long way and there was such love for him” Jasmin continued.
She added, “He was supposed to be here with us in Grand Rapids. Not dead after a police chase.”
The timing seemed too perfect to be worse. The kid from Western Michigan was living his dream. Just three days earlier, Kneeland scored his first NFL touchdown against Arizona Cardinals on MNF. He was about to celebrate his moment with family, but things turned out tragic ultimately.
NFL Asks Teams to Hold Moment of Silence for Marshawn Kneeland
The league has finally decided to honor the fallen player. Adam Schefter reported the NFL sent a memo to all teams Friday requesting moments of silence before Sunday’s games.
“The NFL sent a memo to all teams Friday, asking them to hold a moment of silence Sunday as part of the pre-game ceremonies in memory of the late Cowboys defensive end Marshawn Kneeland,” Schefter wrote on X.

The second-year player appeared in seven games this year, managing 12 tackles and one sack. He was a gentle human being who sometimes loved making TikToks with kids and a devoted son who never missed a family moment.
Meanwhile, he likely went through some mental trauma, as, according to reports, he is said to have taken his own life following the police chase. A normal human being will never do such madness.
