The Magpies suffered a horrendous defeat at Brentford on a day when they were second best in most departments
Harvey Barnes of Newcastle United celebrates with teammates after scoring against Brentford

Newcastle United served up another horror show on the road as they were bullied by Brentford in the capital.
After surviving an early spell of Brentford pressure in the first half, Newcastle took the lead on 27 minutes. Bruno Guimaraes helped it on to Jacob Murphy before his cross was flicked into the path of Harvey Barnes by Nick Woltemade.
Barnes still had work to do, but twisted, turned, and finally beat Caoimhin Kelleher with a powerful shot from eight yards. Newcastle were pegged back when Pope's poor punch allowed Kevin Schade to head home for 1-1.
And the Magpies fell behind with 12 minutes left when Dan Burn fouled Dango Ouatarra in the box before Igor Thiago sent Ramsdale the wrong way. A third goal followed as Thiago cashed in after Malick Thiaw's error
Here's how the players rated at Brentford:
Nick Pope 5
Blotted copybook with weak punch for Brentford's equaliser. Like West Ham, he made some fine saves, but a fundamental mistake cost him dear.
Kieran Trippier 4
Was some way off the pace.
Malick Thiaw 5
Looked to be the only defender to be emerging with credit until late clanger which let in Thiago.
Sven Botman 3
Bullied all afternoon by Thiago. Running on treacle for the third goal. A real wake up call for the Dutchman.
Dan Burn 4
A clumsy foul which cost Newcastle dear with the resultant penalty scored and ban set to leave his side short-handed.
Joelinton 5
Never got going, really. Injured in the first few minutes and eventually had to concede defeat. Went off after 17 touches.
Bruno Guimaraes 5
Must still feel under the weather because this was way below his best standards.
Sandro Tonali 5
Not at the races today. Did not look assured. Weak attempt to hold off Schade for the equaliser.
Harvey Barnes 5
Slid backwards at an alarming rate after providing the opening goal.
Jacob Murphy 4
Went missing after a decent start.
Nick Woltemade 3
Looked lost at times. Nowhere near enough goal threat. Didn't manage a shot.
