Bournemouth trailed 2-0 to Villa at half time, with the Dorset team second best throughout the first 45 minutes.
Match report:
They improved after the break, but they weren’t able to get themselves back into the game as Antoine Semenyo saw a penalty saved by Emi Martinez, and they conceded twice again late on, to lose 4-0 at Villa Park.
Reflecting on the game, Iraola had no complaints over the result.
“I think it's a deserved win for Villa, obviously,” he told the Daily Echo.

“I think two different halves from our side especially, I think we were really poor the first 45 minutes, really poor.
“And I appreciate the second half we've done, with the two goals we conceded from corners at the end, it looks like more of the same.
“But from me they are two very different halves. And I'm a little worried with the first half. Because I think it's coming after a game against City where we also haven't been at our level.
“So it's two games where I think it's a warning a little bit from the competition and we have to take it like this because we've conceded too much against Villa.”
Bournemouth were rocked in the early stages by a nasty collision between Adam Smith and Tyler Adams, seeing the former replaced with concussion.
Iraola said that disrupted them early on – but said they cannot use that as an excuse for why they were not good in the first period.
“I think it's true that we started in the worst way with the collision of Adam and Tyler. We had to make a sub, Tyler was some minutes there like, and this I think has been 10, 15 minutes,” he said.

“But we cannot use it as excuse. But even from them, I think they were much better than us, much more aggressive.
“They were pressing us really well and we were not attacking the spaces in behind. And I think deservedly they've gone 2-0 at half time and after, I think our second 45 minutes have been much, much better.
“But you have your chances, you have the penalty, you have the post. You don't take them, it will change the game, we don't know.
“But you score 2-1 and you are there. But for me, it's true that they scored three set plays from four goals, but it's not they were not doing nothing and they scored three set pieces.
“It's an amazing goal, the first one, but they were being better than us the first 45 minutes.”
