Glasner’s post-match presser: Canvot, Guéhi update & today's point

On Guéhi’s injury, sustained in the closing moments of Thursday’s 3-1 win over AZ Alkmaar in the UEFA Conference League, the Manager added: “Marc has a heavy bone bruise from the kick he got against Alkmaar in the 93rd minute.

“It didn't look so bad, but during the night, he couldn't sleep the whole night and was in huge pain. We made a scan as we had really huge concerns that he has a fracture. Fortunately he has not, but it's a heavy bone bruise, it's swollen, he can't walk, he's on crutches.

“When you have a bruise, you never know how long it takes. Of course, I hope and he hopes and we all hope that he will be back after the international break, but at the moment he can't step on his foot. That means he's in so much pain and now we have to deal with his swelling. I can't tell you how long it will last.”

Palace now head into the November international window after playing seven matches in the space of 22 days, with Glasner adding: “We close now the training ground for one week, all the players get the week off and all the staff.

“The most important thing now is that my fingers are crossed that all the players come back well.”
