Manchester City marked Pep Guardiola's 1000th game in management with a stunning 3-0 win over Liverpool. City saw a penalty saved from Erling Haaland early on, however the Norwegian striker didn't take long to head home from close range to put City 1-0 up.
Virgil van Dijk then headed home, but saw his goal disallowed before Nico Gonzalez found the back of the net with a drilled effort from range to top off a dominant first-half performance. The Reds pushed forward and missed a good chance through Cody Gakpo before man of the match, Jeremy Doku, wrapped up the win with a stunning long-range effort.

GK: Gianluigi Donnarumma - 7/10
In truth, had very little to do. His distribution was very good though.
RB: Matheus Nunes - 7.5/10
Defensively strong and provided a great cross for Haaland's opener.
CB: Ruben Dias - 7.5/10
Marked Hugo Ekitike out of the game with a commanding performance at the back.
CB: Josko Gvardiol - 7/10
Put in a really strong performance as he nullified Liverpool's attack.
LB: Nico O'Reilly - 8/10
A really good performance. Had to handle Mo Salah but did so fairly well and caused all sorts of problems going forward.
CM: Bernardo Silva - 7/10
Put in a busy performance in the middle of the park that was filled with quality.
CM: Nico Gonzalez - 8/10
Scored a wonderful drilled effort to put City 2-0 up. Dictated play so well in the middle of the park.
RW: Rayan Cherki - 6/10
One of Man City's quieter performers. Lost a fair few duels and was unable to play his natural game.
AM: Phil Foden - 6/10
Lacked a little bit of quality in his final ball.
LW: Jeremy Doku - 10/10
Caused heaps of problems for Liverpool and Conor Bradley in particular. His pace and dribbling couldn't be contained. Topped off his afternoon with a scorcher from distance.
ST: Erling Haaland - 8.5/10
Another lethal performance from Haaland. A goal scored and a penalty missed but he was unstoppable nonetheless.
Sub: Savinho -7/10
Dangerous after coming on.

Liverpool Player Ratings
Conor Bradley Liverpool
GK: Giogi Mamardashvili - 5/10
Gave away the penalty early on, which Haaland thankfully missed.
RB: Conor Bradley - 7.5/10
Played well despite facing a difficult test against Doku.
CB: Ibrahima Konate - 5/10
Should have done better to deny Haaland's opening goal. Another disappointing display as pressure mounts on his performances.
CB: Virgil van Dijk - 6/10
Had a goal ruled out. Could have done better with Nico Gonzalez's strike as it deflected off him.
LB: Andy Robertson - 7/10
Should have done better to stop Nunes' cross for Haaland's early header.
CM: Ryan Gravenberch - 6/10
Conceded a couple of sloppy free-kicks.
CM: Alexis Mac Allister - 5.5/10
Looked a little bit off the pace and lacked quality on the ball.
RW: Mohamed Salah - 6.5/10
Worked hard but struggled to really make Nico O'Reilly struggle.
CAM: Dominik Szoboszlaki - 6.5/10
Seemed to be marked out of the game quite effectively. Not his best performance of late, but did go close with an effort late on.
LW: Florian Wirtz - 6/10
Showed a few quality moments in the first half but failed to create anything of real substance.
ST: Hugo Ekitike - 4/10
Really isolated in attack and marked out of the game. Pretty ineffective.
Sub: Milos Kerkez - 5/10
Did little to impress after coming on.
Sub: Cody Gakpo - 5.5/10
Brought on and immediately skied a wonderful opportunity to get one back.
Sub: Curtis Jones - 5/10
Didn't do much to change the course of the game after his introduction.
Sub: Joe Gomez - N/A
Sub: Federico Chiesa - N/A
