With West Ham’s striker options exposed and well documented, every Hammers fan is hoping to see one – or maybe even two – new frontmen added in January. Nuno Espírito Santo, we hear, has of course made it his ‘absolute’ priority. Whether the Hammers can keep picking up points with veteran Callum Wilson and wan away Niclas Fullkrug between now and Christmas is anyone’s guess.
How long before one or both break down? The need for reinforcement is clear.
And I am probably one of the few Hammers supporters who is rightly relieved to hear in-the-know Fabrizio Romano’s ‘definitive’ take on Brazilian teen Endrick’s possible move from Real Madrid to West Ham – a loan deal which had always struck me as utterly fanciful anyway.
Endrick loan deal to West Ham – Romano gives definitive answer
--------------------------------------------------------------
Romano – reported this morning by [londonworld.com](https://www.londonworld.com/sport/football/west-ham/fabrizio-romano-endrick-priority-west-ham-5393959) has confirmed that West Ham’s interest is pretty much dead in the water:
as per London world:
_“Romano [wrote](https://x.com/fabrizioromano/status/1986860509782810658?s=43): “Endrick gives absolute priority to Olympique Lyon move despite reports on Premier League clubs keen. He’s tempted by OL opportunity, straight loan until June 2026 as exclusively revealed.”_
West Ham cannot rely on a teen ‘wonderkid’ as a frontline, “must-keep-us-up-at-all-costs” goal scorer. With nothing to prove a fat pay cheque and a return to Madrid at the end of the season, precociously talented Endrick is 100% not the answer to Nuno’s needs for a Fullkrug replacement: From a crocked 32 year old to a teen wannabe superstar would be moving from the sublime to the ridiculous: I’d rather see the Irons cobble together an Ivan Toney deal.
At least Toney has a goal scoring pedigree in the Premier League.
