Guardiola’s Blues followed up impressive victories against AFC Bournemouth and Borussia Dortmund with three points over the current champions.
Sunday’s sensational success, in what was Guardiola’s 1,000th game as a manager, moved us up into second spot in the Premier League.
And after an injury-hit campaign that failed to hit the heights last time out, the boss says the signs are good this season.
“The team has a good vibe,” Guardiola said.
“We had energy. We lost energy last season, I don’t know why.
“We were not like this team has been for many years. We lost players but we tried to push each other and we were not able to do it.
“Even then, we finish third, normally in that situation in the Premier League you finish 10th.

“Since the Club World Cup in the States, I felt something different than what happened last season in general.
“In October and November, you don’t win the Premier League. The team that wins is the one that grows. You can be top but you have to be better and better. We talk about that a lot.
“We have the feeling we are in that way. We are back in many things.
“I didn’t like the second half against Bournemouth or Liverpool or 20 minutes against BVB but this is a point we have to grow.
“It was important wins against Bournemouth, BVB and Liverpool. A fantastic week for us.
“I have the feeling it’s back and we can play in different ways now. That’s good for us but not for the opponents. They don’t know what we’re going to do.”
