Lions Week 10 inactive report is more of the same for defense (in a bad way)

The Detroit Lions are looking to get right against an injury-riddled Washington Commanders squad in Week 10. It's been quite an interesting week with the Lions' offensive coordinator John Morton getting plenty of heat from fans, and somewhat his own players and head coach, regarding his game planning as of late.

He's not helped by a few key injuries on the Lions' offensive line. Taylor Decker's been iffy for the last few weeks with a shoulder injury, and now Christian Mahogany is out until at least December with a leg fracture suffered in Week 9.

This should be a good game for Detroit to get going again with Washington's numerous injuries on both sides of the ball. Of course, the Lions aren't headed into this one unscathed despite Decker being available.

Lions' Week 10 inactives vs. Commanders in Week 10

Here are the Lions' inactives for Week 10, courtesy the team:

Player Injury

Kerby Joseph Knee

Pat O'Connor Knee

Jacob Saylors Back

Erick Hallett N/A

Quinton Jefferson N/A

Mekhi Wingo N/A

Joseph is the most notable missing piece to the puzzle, missing his third straight contest as the team looks to ease him back into action. He seemed to re-injure himself from coming back too soon, so the team is taking extra precaution with him. Given that they have Brian Branch back, as well, it's a bit easier to deal with his absence on defense.

On offense, the Lions' line is helped immensely by the availability of Dan Skipper, who was questionable headed into this game. He can slide in behind either Decker or Penei Sewell at tackle, and helps out with an injured unit that hasn't gotten much going the last few weeks for the run game or for Jared Goff.

It's not an exaggeration to say this Commanders team is a shell of itself right now. Jayden Daniels is out with an elbow injury, while Terry McLaurin being out presents another blow to their passing offense now led by Marcus Mariota. This is the perfect game for Detroit to regain their momentum after some really brutal games the last few weeks for their offense.
