Manchester United recently reached an agreement to land midfielder Cristian Orozco from Fortaleza CEIF in a deal worth £760,000.
The 17-year-old is one of the brightest young talents in Colombia, and El Espectador describe him as a ‘leader of a new generation‘.
Orozco does not turn 18 until July next year, and he will formally join the Red Devils during the 2026 summer transfer window.
The young defensive midfielder has yet to make his debut for Fortaleza, having only joined from Rojo last summer, but he has showcased his talent with Colombia.
Orozco represented his country at the Under-17 South American Championship earlier this year, where they lost to Brazil in the final on penalties.
He has continued to impress during the ongoing Under-17 World Cup, where Colombia have picked up draws in their first two group stage games.
Orozco has won almost six duels per outing with eight ball recoveries. He has also won three tackles with one interception on average.
The 17-year-old sensation still has room for improvement. He has a passing accuracy of 75 percent and has tended to lose possession.
The potential is undoubtedly there. If the teenager can make the right progress, he has the attributes to become a top-quality defensive midfielder for the Red Devils in future.
United once passed up the opportunity to land Moises Caicedo from Independiente del Valle for around £5m before Brighton & Hove Albion sealed the deal.
It has proved a huge blunder on their part, but they have shown improvement in their youth recruitment under co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe over the last 18 months.
Orozco should make his senior competitive debut for Fortaleza shortly after the Under-17 World Cup. United will no doubt be monitoring his development.
