Bruno Guimaraes released a lengthy social media statement after Newcastle United lost to Brentford on Sunday.
Brentford beat Newcastle United 3-1 in the Premier League on Sunday as Eddie Howe’s side threw yet another game away.
The wait for an away win in this competition goes on and the performances are getting worse. Newcastle collapsed in West London, just as they did in the East of the English capital a week ago against West Ham.
The opening few months of the Premier League campaign have turned into a crisis for Newcastle and Guimaraes has now spoken out.

Bruno Guimaraes’s emotional message to Newcastle United fans
After the full-time whistle at the Gtech Community Stadium, the Brazilian posted a statement on Instagram.
The Newcastle captain admitted that this may well be his toughest period at the club, with the team sitting only two points above the relegation zone after winning only three of their first 11 games.
“In almost four years at this club, we’re going through perhaps one of the toughest moments,” he wrote.
“Just like in life, we can’t always be at the top. But something football has taught me over all these years is that in times like this, we need to stick together and never let go of each other’s hands.

“The first part of the season didn’t go as expected, and now, after this break, we need to find the chemistry that has guided us all this time until now. I can assure you that we are just as sad as you, the fans.”
What happens next for Newcastle United might not be pretty
After the international break, Newcastle host a Manchester City side who have just swept champions Liverpool aside. That is a very difficult game to return to after a draining international break, particularly with Erling Haaland in such good form.
That is followed by away trips to Marseille and Everton in the Champions League and the Premier League respectively. Given their poor record on the road for months now, it’s hard to expect much success on those travels.
With that in mind, the crisis of form at Newcastle could continue. Howe has certainly turned things around before but the problems, for now at least, appear to run deep.
It’s difficult to see a way out of this right now. Many point to Newcastle’s home form but their only Premier League wins have come against Wolves, Nottingham Forest and Everton.
Winning relatively routine Champions League fixtures doesn’t do enough to paper over the cracks. Guimaraes is right, this is perhaps the worst period Newcastle have endured in years.
