Starting Detroit Lions CB ruled out due to concussion

WASHINGTON -- Terrion Arnold just can’t seem to catch a break.

The second-year Detroit Lions cornerback has been ruled out for the rest of the game against the Washington Commanders due to a concussion.

Arnold was spotted walking to the locker room without his helmet before the end of the first half. The starting cornerback made a play on a pass to the end zone in the first quarter, finishing with two tackles and one pass deflection.

Last year’s first-round pick made his return to action in the first game after the bye after a two-game absence. Arnold had been dealing with a shoulder injury before returning to the starting lineup for these last two games.

The Lions are rolling all over the Commanders, leading 32-10 with 12:06 left in the third quarter. Without Arnold, look for Amik Robertson and Rock Ya-Sin to handle the outside cornerback work.

Robertson and Ya-Sin started the two games there when Arnold was out of the lineup. Arthur Maulet has continued to handle nickelback snaps, with Thomas Harper and Avonte Maddox handling some work at safety alongside Brian Branch with Kerby Joseph out.

Arnold has left three games early this season, highlighting his tough-luck stretch of ailments. He dealt with a back injury last week against the Minnesota Vikings, and will likely have to deal with concussion protocol throughout the upcoming week.
