Cardinals Cannot Overcome Rough Start In Seattle

**THE STORY:** SEATTLE -- Since the Seahawks escaped Arizona in Week 4 with a final play field goal, they had been playing so well that the argument could easily be made they were the best team in the NFL as the league reached its halfway point in the season.

The Cardinals felt every part of that Sunday at Lumen Field as the teams had their 2025 rematch.

Trailing 35-0 at one point, the Cardinals (2-6) fell to the Seahawks, 44-22, in a disappointing follow-up to the win in Dallas the week before.

Twice in the first 16 minutes of the game, Seahawks linebacker strip-sacked Cardinals quarterback Jacoby Brissett. Both times, linebacker DeMarcus Lawrence returned the fumble for a touchdown -- for 34 and 22 yards respectively. It set the tone for Seattle (7-2).

The Cardinals did cut the lead to 38-15 and had the ball on a fourth down in the red zone with five minutes left in the third quarter, but a possible spectacular TD reception by Marvin Harrison Jr. was broken up by an even better pass breakup by Seahawks cornerback Nehemiah Pritchett to foil any thoughts of a miracle comeback.

The Cardinals also were whacked by injuries, with defensive lineman Walter Nolen III, defensive lineman Darius Robinson and wide receiver Zay Jones among those having to leave the game.
