Donald Trump threatened to take Kenny Albert's job after his appearance during the Washington Commanders' loss to the Detroit Lions.

In the Commanders' latest loss this season, Trump was in attendance at Northwest Stadium, becoming the first sitting president to attend an NFL game in almost five decades. Trump's appearance took place during the longest government shutdown in American history.

The 79-year-old's decision to appear on FOX Sports' broadcast left fans befuddled, with some taking to social media to express their feelings. At the end of his almost nine-minute stint in the booth, Trump left a parting message to Albert.

"Thank you very much. This is an honor," Trump said as he was leaving the booth after spending almost nine minutes talking with Albert and Vilma during the game. Facing Albert, Trump added, "Fantastic, I'd love to have your job someday. Thank you, man."

Before the president's claim, Trump, Albert, and Vilma spoke on a number of topics, very few of which involved the government shutdown and other issues affecting the American people at present. Trump did touch on the military with his usual style of speaking, and how sports were an indicator of life in their own way.

"But you can equate sports with life," he said during his visit to the FOX Sports booth. "You know, you have the triumph and you have the problems and you got to get through the problems to hit the triumphs and you can never quit. You can never give up."

Regarding the direction of the nation amid the shutdown and other issues, Trump added, "Well, we're doing great. And recruitment is doing phenomenally. People have spirit. Our stock market hit an all-time high. Prices are coming down. We inherited a mess. Prices are coming way down.

"And I'll tell you, our country has over 17 trillion dollars being invested in it, which is a record. So we're doing great, just like they have to do great right now."

Speaking on the newest members of the armed forces and being a part of the ceremony to welcome them into the military, Trump lauded them for their decision. The president also added that it was a moment he will cherish as the Commander-in-Chief.

"Well, we just swore in a tremendous group of young people. And that was an honor. And they are just fantastic," the 79-year-old told Albert and Vilma.

"And they love, you know, our recruitment has been record-setting since a year ago was a disaster for the country. And now it's record-setting. So this was an honor to be here."

Despite Trump claiming it was an "honor" to be at Northwest Stadium, the fans in attendance seemed not to share the same feelings toward the president. During halftime, Trump took the microphone and addressed the crowd for the Oath of Enlistment.

As he spoke, the fans loudly booed him, with various broadcasts being overwhelmed with crowd noise, drowning out what the president attempted to say. When Trump concluded, it was reported that the crowd cheered, showing the president how they truly felt about him.
