UPDATE: Porter has returned to the game for the Steelers.
Our original story is below.

The Pittsburgh Steelers’ depth at cornerback is being tested in Week 10 against the Los Angeles Chargers, as CB Joey Porter Jr. was injured in the third quarter. The Steelers already lost CB Darius Slay to a concussion in the first half, and he was replaced by James Pierre. With Porter leaving the game, Jalen Ramsey has moved from safety to cornerback and Chuck Clark has replaced Ramsey at safety.
Porter was able to walk off under his own power, but he seemed visibly frustrated on the NBC broadcast as he got to the sideline. Porter was flanked by trainers after being attended to on the field, and he slammed his down after reaching the sideline.
Porter’s injury came on a run play and it’s unknown what exactly happened. It appeared as though Porter got his knee hit in the first half on a tush push, but he didn’t miss any time.
Porter missed three games earlier this season with a hamstring injury that he suffered against the New York Jets in Week 1, and he didn’t return until Week 6. So far this season, Porter has 22 total tackles, 10 passes defensed and an interception in his third NFL season.
The Steelers opted not to add another cornerback ahead of the trade deadline, and their lack of depth is proving to be an issue today. Ramsey played well at safety last week but now has to move back to cornerback, and there aren’t any reinforcements coming, with CB Cory Trice Jr. suffering a knee injury when it appeared he was going to return from an injury suffered in training camp.
This story will be updated when more information on Porter’s status becomes available.
