ANDONI Iraola said it was a difficult day for right back Alex Jimenez, who came on for the [Cherries](http://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/sport/cherries/clubnews/?ref=au) early on at Aston Villa before being replaced at halftime after only 35 minutes of action.
Jimenez replaced Adam Smith after just ten minutes at Villa Park, the skipper picking up a nasty-looking head injury in a collision with Tyler Adams.
But after coming on, Jimenez appeared to struggle and was caught in possession on a couple of occasions, and he picked up a booking for a shoulder charge, from which Villa opened the scoring from the resulting free kick.
He was then replaced by Lewis Cook at halftime.

Iraola admitted it was a tough day for the young Spaniard.
“It's difficult for him because you are not ready,” he said.
“Probably you are on the bench, straight away you have to play. The full back is a difficult position always against Villa because they put the wingers very inside.
“They play these two against two outside. And that's why I decided to go with Adam Smith because he has been here before, he has experienced this tactical approach.
“And that was the main reason we decided to go with Adam for this game.
“And after the change is more because of the yellow card.
“It was not an easy game for him. And I decided to put Lew because I think Lew was good the other day against City playing there and is a position where we have good options.”
