Usually, WWE stars and Hall of Famers are beloved by fans. However, one Hall of Famer was at the receiving end of boos when they made an appearance at a recent NFL game.
The current President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, was inducted into the World Wrestling Hall of Fame’s celebrity wing in 2013. Last night, he made an appearance at the Washington Commanders’ home game against the Detroit Lions at the Northwest Stadium in Landover, Maryland. While President Trump definitely is admired by a lot of people, this did not seem to be the case last night.
How The Night Unfolded For WWE Hall of Famer, Donald Trump
Donald Trump made history last night as it was the first time in over 50 years that a sitting U.S. President had attended a regular-season NFL game. Trump was shown across the screens in the stadium late in the first half and received a mixed reaction.
However, when the announcer formally introduced Donald Trump during the game’s halftime, he received a negative reaction. President Trump was supposed to participate in an enlistment ceremony for new military recruits and read the Oath of Service; however, his whole segment was drowned out by boos from the crowd. Donald Trump has had a long-standing association with the WWE, being involved in an angle with Vince McMahon in 2007 and 2009. Several wrestlers, such as Hulk Hogan and Kane, appeared in support of him during his election campaign.
Despite making appearances for several sporting events, President Trump has not recently been seen at a World Wrestling Entertainment event, with many believing the POTUS will be attending the December 13 edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event, which will feature John Cena’s retirement match and will be held in Washington, D.C.
