Seahawks WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba Eclipses 1,000 Yards, QB Sam Darnold Has Good First Half

Smith-Njigba finished Sunday's game with one touchdown and 93 yards on five receptions. His touchdown came on a 43-yard connection with quarterback Sam Darnold on Seattle's first drive of the game.

"What you love about Sam is he pulls the trigger," head coach Mike Macdonald said after the game. "He's aggressive but like smart with how he does it. He ripped it and Jaxon went and got it. Just shows what he can do. Body control, ball skills, how he tracks it all that was on display."

What made the touchdown even more impressive was the way Darnold was able to throw to his left, across his body, without even having his feet set.

"Beautiful throw," Smith-Njigba said. "Great throw. Put it right on the money. Sam's (Darnold) been playing great; gave me a chance on it. So, I appreciate it."

He added, "I don't know how he does it, honestly, but he's a competitor and he's going to shoot for the moon. Guys like me, (the) receivers, we appreciate that, giving me a chance to make a play on a ball. He's a special player, and it's like the Sam Darnold Show out there."

And as great as Smith-Njigba continues to play each game, it doesn't surprise Darnold anymore what Smith-Njigba is doing.
